Talbot Technologies’ customers utilise single sheet vacuum formed plastic mouldings for a wide range of industries including:
Talbot Technologies specialises in forming heavy gauge thermoplastic sheet, typically ranging from 0.5mm through to 15mm. Final part sizes vary depending on the part design and desired surface finish. Thermoplastic sheet is clamped and heated to a forming temperature and formed over either a male or female tool with the assistance of vacuum. The choice of tooling and the medium from which the tool is manufactured from will be decided by technical attributes required in the final part design, the life of the tool, the part tolerance, the choice of thermoplastic sheet to be moulded and the budgetary constraints of the customer. All Talbot Technologies production tooling is either cast or machined aluminium; wooden tooling is used during the initial prototyping stage only. The wooden tooling is an inexpensive way to prove the design concept, and refine part functionality; wooden tooling is not recommended for production tooling. |
